Our Projects

Concrete Expertise for Clients In Multiple Sectors

We serve contracts for customers spanning many sectors that require quality, reliable concrete work.

We have the staff, crew and equipment to manage any project, including:

  • Residential construction, such as new neighborhood builds and the sitework and utilities that are required to lay the groundwork before home building can begin.
Commercial construction, such as shopping malls, schools, places of worship, hotels, retail buildings, industrial facilities, office buildings, restaurants, athletic facilities, and more.
  • Mission Critical Data Center construction.
  • VDOT and road construction projects such as interstates, major secondary roads, parking lots, parks and major construction sites.
  • VDOT Mega Projects.
  • VDOT and Large-Scale Municipal Projects

More than half of our projects are VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation) projects.

This includes the large-budget VDOT Mega Projects such as the 395 Express Lanes, the Route 66 Express Lanes, and the current I81 improvement project. Our teams are called upon to lay pavement to create new traffic lanes, to demolish old barriers and lay new ones, demolish bridges and build new ones… if it’s a heavy concrete project, we have it covered.

Projects of Any Scale

Although about 50% of our work is on VDOT efforts, we are always delighted to work with smaller contractors. We provide the same level of service, no matter the scale of the project.

Local Expertise

Our contracts often come from customers who are doing construction in Virginia but who may be from other parts of the country. We’re often called upon to be the trusted local contacts, and to engage our long-term local partners to handle any construction need. This saves legwork and time for our customers, as they don’t have to track down the sources of construction materials, a place to take recyclable materials, etc.

Tavares Concrete is ‘plugged into’ the local community, and can facilitate getting construction projects started quickly.

We’re local, we know the local resources, and we can help your project get started faster and with top-quality services.
